Dear Briargrove Parent,
Since 1958, Briargrove Elementary has been a leader in academic excellence in public education and a model for parent volunteerism for Houston. It is more than just a great school in our neighborhood – it is a haven for the best and the brightest students, faculty, staff, and is a vital part of the surrounding community.
That is why you chose Briargrove for your child and we need your help. For this school year, Briargrove was able to maintain all teaching positions in spite of the recent budget cuts. This was largely due to the PTO absorbing many school expenses, such as copiers, police officers, and on-campus counseling services. Without financial support from our families and corporate neighbors, we will be unable to continue to have such a substantial impact.
The PTO must raise over $120,000 per school year, which directly impacts your child’s education. We hope to increase this amount to add even more programs and provide more support in the classrooms. With your generous financial contribution through the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), we can continue to provide enriching educational and diverse cultural programs, fund needed improvements to our school, maintain extra safety measures, and give additional support to our teachers and staff. No amount is too small and all donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
