5th Grade Patriot's Day

During Patriot's Day, 5th Graders dress up in period costumes and have activities all day that reflect the 1770’s. They also attend a party that night at a BG family’s home. The whole day is so fun and informative for the students, truly bringing history to life.

Volunteer parents help plan this event. In order for the day to be successful, we need your help as well! You will hear more about it at Open House, but we want to start gathering names and emails now to help organize the event. Below are a few ways you can help. Please return this form to school or email us with how you are able to help.

All people participating the day of the event must dress in costume reflecting the time period. Your child should wear colonial-looking attire, and parent volunteers helping at school during that day or during the evening party will also dress to reflect the time period. The 5th grade teachers will give you many ideas, but you may want to get started on it now. Places you can to look for colonial costumes include: Party City, Frankles, Performing Art Supply, or the internet.
